I have kindly been given permission to work from his original photographs by The National Library of Wales, and have a limited number of 100 prints.
John Thomas traveled around North Wales with his camera photographing everyday people. He sought out the local celebrities of the area, including various trades in their uniform and traditional dress as featured here.
Dick Pugh, occupation unknown but if the axe is anything to go by, then some kind of hard labourer. Lived somewhere in North Wales, as did all the other Welsh Ladies and Gentlemen. I was drawn to this gentleman sense of style and expression, he looks determined on something whatever that may be.
